Nixie watch dosimeter matrix led
Titantimepiece present:
Special Nixie watch, with γ , β and X-ray radiation dosimeter.
New, original, handmade watch with matrix led red, sapphire glass.
The body milled from a solid piece bronze.
Has protect from splashing water and dust.
This personal dosimeter is designed to measure dose equivalent and dose equivalent
rate of gamma and X-ray radiation, and to detect objects, food, building materials
contaminated with radioactive elements.
The measurement is carried out by counting the number of pulses from the ionizing
radiation sensor SBM-21 per time period. This type of sensor is capable of detecting
gamma radiation and X-rays, as well as detecting hard beta radiation in the immediate
vicinity, if the sensor is not protected by a metal casing / screen. This sensor is not
sensitive to alpha radiation.
Measurement range and sensitivity parameters are completely determined by the
applied radiation sensor, see the Appendix at the end of this manual.
Digital and text data is displayed using LED matrix display. It consists of lines and rows
of small bright LEDs and provides perfect readability and contrast. The display turns
on briefly by pressing button. In order to save battery power display automatically
turns of automatically in several seconds. This “go to sleep” time is defined by user in
appropriate menu. It also can be “off”, so display is always on – this can be useful
when watch used with external USB power connected.
The dosimeter is designed to operate continuously in standby mode, with the
indication off, running clock, collecting information about equivalent dose, and turns
on an alarm on dose equivalent rate, if this is set in the settings.
It has an ultra-low current consumption (<40μA), which means it can function in
standby mode for a long time on battery power, depending on the capacity of the
battery used. However, it should be kept in mind, that the frequency of turning on the
indication to view information, the brightness of the display, and using vibration
options will accordingly reduce the battery life.
Safe/harmful dose rate corresponding to Russian “NRB—99/2009” are:
0-50 uR/h (0-0.5 uSv/h) – Normal natural level
50-120 uR/h (0.5-1.2 uSv/h) – High level
120+ uR/h (1.2+ uSv/h) – Dangerous level
This data given only as a general reference, please refer your country’s regulations for
proper data.
Due to display’s limitations this dosimeter shows radiation levels only in Roentgen. If
you want to know how much it is in Sievert simply divide dose rate by 100 and dose by
120. Example: 130 uR/h = 1.3 uSv/h and 1432 mR = 11.93 mSv
